La Liste unveils its Top 1000 ranking of the World’s Best Restaurants, and special awards for 2025
The global benchmark for gastronomy
La Liste reveals its 2025 ranking of the world's best restaurants, consolidating its position as an authority in international gastronomic assessment. This year, nine excellent establishments in seven countries share first place, illustrating the richness and diversity of the world's haute gastronomy.
Top 1,000 winners
Arnaud Donckele's La Vague d'Or, Cheval Blanc in Saint-Tropez puts him in first place, while his Parisian restaurant Plénitude, Cheval Blanc Paris, takes second place. Guy Savoy retains his place at the top of the ranking, his entry into the Académie des Beaux-Arts officially putting his cuisine on record.
On the international scene, the United States equals France in terms of the number of establishments in the Top 1000. For the first time, Northern California's Single Thread Farm and NYC Le Bernardin share first place.
In the UK, Simon Rogan's L'Enclume reaches the top of the ranking for the second time.
Germany sees Schwarzwaldstube maintain its excellence, Switzerland puts Peter Knogl at the Cheval Blanc restaurant in the Hôtel Les Trois Rois at the top for the first time, while in Asia, Lung King Heen in Hong Kong and Matsukawa in Tokyo dominate.
Special Awards
La Liste's Special Awards offer a complementary perspective to its algorithmic ranking, revealing another facet of the world's gastronomic excellence. This editorial selection highlights emerging talents, culinary innovators, and artisans of excellence who contribute to enriching the gastronomic landscape. This year, a new 'Show-to-table' category celebrates those establishments where the atmosphere and the public are an integral part of the show, and where each customer becomes an actor in the experience.

LA LISTE becomes the most global and selective digital travel guide by introducing the Top 1,000 World’s Best Hotels
Thanks to the compilation of more than 300 sources from travel guides to press and consumer reviews, LA LISTE has selected more than 7,000 hotels across 200 countries.
Using its proprietary algorithm - similar to meta classification -, LA LISTE has ranked the Top 1,000 World's Best Hotels and officially crowned Hotel Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, Venice, World's Best Hotel 2023. All results will be available on LA LISTE website by country and by category. Special Awards Hotels highlight additional hotel openings, pioneering concepts in design or sustainability as well as hidden gems strengthening LA LISTE's hotel global map.
Everyone who downloads the LA LISTE mobile app will be able to discover the best hotels in the world and our wider selection of 7,000 luxury outstanding hotels adding to the more than 35,000 restaurants and pastry shops.

Gastronomy Observer is based on hundreds of sources from La Liste’s database, as well as reports, in-depth articles and interviews to identify trends, concepts and what lies ahead for a constantly evolving culinary landscape.
The 2021 edition measured the impact of the pandemic on the restaurant sector, as well as highlighting the industry’s resilience and examining emerging trends. The birth of a movement, new restaurant models, and the values that will carry the gastronomy of the future are explained and illustrated with examples from all over the world.
The second is a special edition dedicated to African cuisines. It includes a selection of 450 restaurants across the continent and interviews of more than 50 chefs, each being an ambassador of their country!
